Bittersweet

Our long-time friend, Robin, passed away in July. Many of us had just returned from our yearly trip to Truro on Cape Cod. Robin loved it there--loved the oysters and the crabs! But she was not able to come this year, and she was heavy in our hearts all week.

This is what happens as we pass 70--we speak of it often. Watching our bodies change, our eyesight dim. But having friends allows us to both cry and laugh about everything. We are so fortunate to have enough to eat, to walk and rest safely--there are so many who do not have those basics.

I wish for all those who have enough to reach out with compassion for the Other.
